Garrett LeSage

Garrett LeSage is a designer and software developer who worked in the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) for nearly three decades. He started contributing to the community in 1996, helped launch and run Linux.com in 1999, and went on to become Red Hat’s first designer in software engineering in 2002, where he created the Bluecurve project to unify the Linux desktop. In 2003, Garrett co-founded the Fedora project. Throughout his career, he has led key projects like the Tango icon project, the BetterDesktop initiative, and contributed to the GNOME desktop interface — all aimed at improving Linux UX and UI. Now back at Red Hat for almost 13 years, Garrett works on the Cockpit project's web console and Anaconda's Web UI, continuing his efforts to improve design in FOSS software.
