The past year was a bustling year for Fedora. Fedora 22 and 23 were released, and with their releases, all of the different sub-projects of Fedora have been doing their share of contributing to the overall success of Fedora. However, in a project as large as Fedora, it can be hard to keep track of what everyone is doing! If you’re a developer, you likely know a bit about what’s happening inside the code of Fedora, but you may not know what’s happening with the Fedora Ambassadors. Or maybe you’re involved with Globalization (G11n) and translating and know what’s happening there, but you’re not as familiar with what the Fedora Design team is working on.

Share your “Year in Review”

To help communicate with the rest of the Fedora Project what we all have been working on in 2015, the Fedora Community Operations team (CommOps) is helping every sub-project of Fedora put together their own “Year in Review” article on the Fedora Community Blog. The CommOps team has created an easy to use template to document your top three highlights of 2015 and one goal for 2016.

You can read the original announcement of the “Year in Review” on the Fedora Community Blog. Contributors are encouraged to work with their sub-projects to come up with the three 2015 highlights and one 2016 goal. Keep in mind, these are only set as a minimum. If your sub-project has been bustling or has a lot of big tasks for 2016, you can include more highlights or more goals! The only requirement is to meet the minimum, but there is no maximum for what you wish to include.

Getting help with your “Year in Review”

Are you having a hard time coming up with things to include in your “Year in Review”? Depending on the type of sub-project you are with, it can vary depending on what type of work you do. A great reference for any sub-project are active mailing list threads or important tickets in Fedora Trac that helped define a major moment for your team this past year.

Additionally, pictures are also worth a thousand words! Have any pictures from an event, a talk, a conference, a Fedora event, or anything else involving your team? This is a great time to scroll through the camera roll and find a picture to help provide a visual aide in telling the story of what your group worked on in 2015.

If you are still stuck or having a hard time making the next step, the Community Operations team is here to help. You can contact us on our mailing list or reach us in Freenode IRC on
