Today is July 25 and that can mean only one thing — it’s SysAdmin Day 2014!
SysAdmin Day is one day every year when we express gratitude and thanks to the hard-working IT folks that keep our services up and running all year round. They do a lot of work behind the scenes of our favorite web sites and services. They work long and odd hours, frequently under pressure, to solve difficult problems on our behalf. And ultimately, without them, the internet would be pretty clunky!
In the Fedora Project, we have our own fabulous Fedora Infrastructure Team. They’re constantly striving to make our services in Fedora as responsive and resilient as possible. When an outage happens, they’re the people who respond (in the middle of the night sometimes!) to set things right. And they do it with a positive spirit, extending a warm and welcoming hand to the community. As with all things Fedora, the team does their work openly and transparently in the community so anyone can watch, learn, contribute, and succeed.
Let’s all join in giving a big round of thanks to the Fedora Infrastructure team for their amazing efforts and accomplishments! Happy SysAdmin Day, folks, and have a $BEVERAGE on us, your friends and satisfied customers.
